Week 2
Week 2 Refresh of targets from week 1: I need to have a clear understanding of what I want the new set of images to achieve. I have to explore the papers qualities. I have to look at ways I can integrate the bees into images making. I need to research artists that have used a similar approach. I have focused very hard on the tasks I set myself this week. I have been exploring just what I want to achieve with this project and what I want the audience to take away from this par

Creating a video trailer
The first video is more a slide show of my work. I created it with the idea of forming something that can reach more senses than just visual. I recored sounds from a bee hive and placed them over a piano rendition of the same sounds ( same key and tonal properties). The video above was created to bring people into the horror story that we could live in if we don't protect the bee population. The video was meant to be dark and fast paced to add to that feeling of importance of

Videos on bee-haviour
In this video I have learnt about the importance of a Queen. I should look at way of introducing this to my images. This image has drawn my attention to the seemingly sporadic formation of the hive mixed with the highly efficient beautiful final piece. I could explore ways of showing my interaction with my images ( I am the bee). This video reenforced the importance of the hive interacting and coinciding with the environment around it. Something I have been exploring already.

How Do Honey Bees Make Hives?
for this stage of the project I want to look at who the bees behave when creating there hives. I want to find a way of integrating my images into the stages of creation to change and dramatically alter there appearance. I have looked specifically at worker honey bees, and how they make hives to store honey and feed themselves throughout winter when they cannot go outdoors to forage for food. Honey bee hives are made of six-sided tubes, which are the shapes for optimal honey p

Week one in reflection.
Week one- review This week I have been focusing on the more experimental levels of my project. I have been taking my images and thinking of way to push them as far as they can go artistically and structurally but still maintaining a strong photographic reference. I started off by exploring the paper and how different paper can add to the overall aesthetic of my images. My first attempt was with a paper I found online that was textured; I thought the texture in the paper would
